Mahanoy Township Authority is seeking an experienced Water Treatment Plant Operator with a background in waterline, water supply, and water treatment or similar experience but willing to train the right candidate. The position of Plant Operator conducts the day to day operations of the plant and the production, treatment and distribution of water as well as maintenance and clean up.

Duties include but are not limited to quality and quantity of water and service delivered by the system. Laboratory test as required by the PA Department of Environmental Protections and efficient operation of the plant. Preparation, filing and maintenance of all reports and records related to the production/distribution of water and water services. Some general plant maintenance as well as cutting grass, plowing snow, painting etc. Weir measurements, piezometer readings, and dam heights at all reservoirs weekly.

Candidates should possess a PA State Certification or become certified within 3 years. Be able to work outdoors. Mechanical aptitude and good reading capabilities. Able to work independently. Strong math, Chemistry, and computer skills essential. Training is provided. Candidate will need to be available to work weekends, holidays and be on-call.
